As a Senior Scientist you will be based at Ferring International PharmaScience Center (IPC) in Ørestad, Copenhagen and will join a newly established team, to help create early stage innovation breakthroughs. The Challenge
If your field of expertise is in mucosal immunology and you are looking for an opportunity to make an impact beyond the average, we have just the right job waiting for you. As part of a newly established discovery team you will play a key role in expanding Ferring’s long history of treatment of inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD).

As Senior Scientist you will be responsible for the development and execution of in vitro, ex vivo and in vivo studies in support of early stage drug discovery. This includes being part of feasibility and drug discovery project teams, cross-functional planning of complex pharmacology studies and project team efforts.
You will drive tasks and projects forward in leading roles and as participant. Additionally, you will coach and mentor technical staff and less experienced colleagues.

Your primary tasks will be to:

Facilitate innovation and project progression with a strong focus on IBD
Design and conduct key experimental plans as needed, both internally and externally
Develop and implement new models, methods, and technologies for in vivo/ex vivo/in vitro assays to test biological activity of compounds produced by drug discovery teams
Identify CROs or academia with relevant technology – and stay updated on new trends
Support our efforts within external sourcing and innovation

Your Talent
You have a Ph.D. in Immunology and/or Pharmacology and specific mucosal expertise. You are an entrepreneur with a creative mind and the dedication needed for aiming at scientific excellence. You also have the ability to drive things forward independently. You are used to navigate in a complex setting with multiple stakeholders, internally and externally. This also include working with CROs and academic collaborators and managing these collaborations with due respect to professional and cultural differences.

Ideally, your CV comprises:

Ph.D. in Immunology and/or Pharmacology with significant post-graduate experience
Preferably 3+ years of experience in Pharma R&D
Scientific knowledge and experience within mucosal immunology and IBD, incl. in vitro and in vivo pharmacology, MoA studies and translational research
A strong publication record, including first-authored publications in high quality journals and presentations at conferences
Knowledge of new technology within your field of expertise
Fluency in English, written and spoken

You are motivated by having a high impact position and understand how to apply your cultural awareness to inspire trust and respect among your international colleagues. As a dedicated and flexible team-player, you utilise your high level of energy and can-do attitude to proactively handle the various tasks at hand.

Strong communication skills are essential in this role, which interacts with many other disciplines. You have the ability to work independently and as part of a project, and you are keen on working in a multi-cultural environment. You are of course proficient in English, both written and verbal.
