The Challenge
As the Head of Quality, you will be responsible for providing leadership in maintaining and continually improving an effective QA/QC function. You will be involved in the overall strategy for Carmo, as you are the responsible person for the QA and QC strategy in the company. Your input and decisions will be affecting the commercial strategy, the product range and daily operational performance. You can think strategically and at the same time you enjoy acting operationally. You must ensure, that the approvals and certifications related to quality are in place. You will maintain and develop quality assurance and quality control, so that it reflects the actual operation, customer demands, strategic plans and company structure. You and your team will ensure the appropriate framing of the quality policies and systems, including criteria, level of compliance, resource management and processes related to site and product qualification, product registration and ISO certifications.

You will be responsible for:

  • Management, motivation and development of the quality system and QC function, ensuring high performance and value creation within the teams
  • Management of 9 dedicated employees involved in QA/QC, allocating and managing the resources regarding the daily operations, working 24/7 in a 3-shift operation
  • Ad hoc type tasks and development of the functions
  • Responsible for all aspects of the quality management systems by ISO 9001 and ISO 13485, including the budget within the field
  • Engaged in external audits related to the quality systems and facilities
  • Ensure that the implementation of the quality systems is functioning well in all departments and are operated well according to the standards
  • Support and lead of the QA and QC team
  • Responsible for QC related communication with customers, including multinational medico-companies
  • Responsible for IT Compliance including validation and data back-up

Your Talent
The preferred candidate will possess the following profile:

  • You are likely to be Chemical Engineer, Cand. Pharm or similar
  • You have +5 years management experience, preferably from a position with direct responsibility for QA/QC/production from the industry
  • You are familiar with directives, standards and guidelines such as ISO 9001 and 13485
  • You have documented management skills and project management skills, ensuring the motivation and understanding and use of the quality system
  • You have a strong QA mindset and you can drive and motivate teams in different projects
  • You have strong technical and analytical skills and the ability to create continuous improvement
  • As a person you are positive, committed and energetic
  • You are competent in decision making and self-motivating by nature
  • You must be able to work effectively in an entrepreneurial environment
  • You can adapt to different situations with short and conflicting deadlines
  • You are fluent in English (written and spoken) and an excellent communicator
